IS ACUPUNCTURE PAINFUL?
Acupuncture does not hurt like a hypodermic needle. Hypodermic needls are thick and in comparison to thin fine hair-like acupuncture needles. When acupuncture needles are inserted and manipulated, to some there is a sensation, often a very mild electrical or tingling feeling, but usually not pain, to others it could be totally unnoticeable.

HOW SAFE IS ACUPUNCTURE?
Acupuncture is extremely safe. It is a "drug free" therapy, yeilding no side effects, except feelings of relaxation and being grounded. There is no danger of infection from acupuncture needles because they are sterile, used once, and disposed of after each use.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR TREATMENT?
Before receiving acupuncture, you should eat a snack or light meal, wear loose, comfortable clothing, and do not arrive rushed for treatment.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
A treatment takes about 30 minutes to 1 (one) hour.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER TREATMENT?
Patients may feel sleepy or tired, even a temporary worsening of symptoms or pain. These symptoms and occurances are nothing to worry about since they are generally indications that your body is trying to achieve a proper balance.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL IT TAKE BEFORE I SEE AN IMPROVEMENT IN MY CONDITION?
This is a difficult question to answer because it varies from person to person. some peple will be able to see an improvement right away. With others, however, it takes as many as ten treatments before they notice a difference. Every person reacts differently. It also depends on how long the problem has existed and how severe it is.
